As summer approaches, I crave lots of raw fruits and veggies with high water content. I also like to go on surfing/camping adventures and want a quick, healthy breakfast to consume on the go. So I set out to convert my normal breakfast of fried eggs and sautèed greens into a pre-prepared meal that didn't need much refrigeration. Besides hardboiled eggs, I made a nutrient dense green smoothie that could be frozen ahead of time. My experiments finally yielded this tasty way to drink your veggies. It was so delicious that my two nieces hijacked my smoothie and consumed it all while licking their lips with satisfactory remarks. I could barely get these girls to eat cooked kale, but raw in a smoothie, I didn't even have to ask.
Blended Ingredients:
5 ice cubes
1/2 c filtered water
1/2 avocado
1 organic green apple
3 stalks of organic celery
1/4 cup of fresh organic parsley
3-4 stalks of organic kale
the juice of 2 fresh squeezed organic lemons
2 Tablespoons of fresh ginger
1 teaspoon of cinnamon (for sweetener)
chia seeds (optional protein)
Organic isn't mandatory, but it is recommended due to the high water content of most of these ingredients.

Love this recipe! Made a batch of kale salad that my husband refuses to eat. Turning it into green smoothies for me. Thanks.
